Permit-Ready Plans

Permit-Ready Plans are for California sites. More states coming soon.

That certification is limited to the layout conforming to the applicable California Fire Code requirements for temporary membrane structures, as adopted by the authority having jurisdiction. The items covered are setbacks, egress, occupant load, and extinguisher placement. The tent and the anchoring method are those published by the manufacturer.

No structural, wind, or anchorage calculations are performed unless they are contracted separately. The engineer does not inspect the work. The engineer is not responsible for installation, means and methods, site conditions, or whether the field work matches the plan.

Any change to the layout voids the certification unless the engineer approves the change in writing.

You are responsible for accurate site information, for submitting the plans to the authority having jurisdiction, and for obtaining approval.

Forms

Ask a question, or request a plan. We'll get back to you soon.

You can also email [email protected].

A request for Permit-Ready Plans asks you to name the state. It can include a manufacturer spec sheet. The form says: PDF or photo, up to 10 MB. It is attached to the email.

Form notes are sent through Web3Forms. Nothing is stored.

On the free plan, the note names the file, and the file itself is not attached.

Terms of Use

These terms are between you and X Marks the Site. Using the website, or a request for Permit-Ready Plans, means you agree to them.

Limit on liability

The total liability of X Marks the Site for any claim about the website or these services is limited to the fees you actually paid to X Marks the Site for the work that led to the claim. If you paid nothing, that limit is zero.

X Marks the Site is not liable for consequential, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, even if it was told those damages were possible.

Your promise to cover claims

You will indemnify X Marks the Site and hold it harmless from claims, damages, losses, and costs, including reasonable attorney fees, that come from your use of the website, from information you provide, or from your failure to follow these terms.

What is not an engineering document

Website content is informational only. It is not an engineering document, and it is not a permit document.

A Permit-Ready Plan is a permit plan set for California sites. More states coming soon. That work is governed by a separate written agreement. Structural, wind, and anchorage calculations are not part of that work unless they are contracted separately.

What you are responsible for

You are responsible for the site conditions, including utilities, the ground, and the surfaces. You are responsible for giving accurate information. You are responsible for submitting plans to the authority having jurisdiction and to the fire department, and for obtaining approval. The engineer does not inspect the installation and is not responsible for means and methods or for whether the field work matches the plan.

Anchoring and ballast values are the values published by the manufacturer.

Law and place

California law governs these terms. The venue is California.

If one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
